Is anyone else completely not swooned by Obama?

I am an American citizen living in Canada, my parents actually moved us to Canada after Bush was voted in for a second time, and I really don't understand why people complain so much about Bush when it was over half of them who re-elected him in anyways... it's like ordering the same food twice even though you hated it the first time. But back to my question, I would consider my political views to be fairly Democratic, however I am thoroughly unimpressed with Obama's speeches, and I don't understand his whole fan club. I just want to the Democrats to win so that my dad will move us back to the US, not that Canada is a bad place to live, it's actually better than where I'm originally from (Houston, Texas). Someone please explain to me what is great about him? I've been following this election every day and it just doesn't make sense why people would give their left nut just to hear the man speak.
