There is a tattoo I want, that represents a difficult part of my life that I've learned from, I need opinions.?

I would go with "It's not a question but a lesson learnt in time" or "Life can change, you're not in vain." I especially like the last one because it would be symbolic of your grandmother's life and ping not being in vain.
