Ok.. im gettin my Septum Pierced. but. will i be able to flip it up the exact day i get it done.?

i want to get it on tuesday 9-8-09 but i want to get it for school weekends chill outs and w.e but for work i have to hide it knowin that its dead smack in the middle of my face lol so i heard u can get the septum retainer to flip up but can i flip it up with a regular septum .. with the at the end.? cuz i do like the on the ring it lo0ks nice.
