How do you get children to get less lazy?

Luke and Leia seem to just lay around the house and do nothing every day. For instance, I try to engage luke in some friendly lightsaber dueling, but he rather tinker with his models. And leia just sits around and watch her soap operas. On top of that they eat all the food in the house every time I go to the grocery store. Does anyone have a solution?
